ICT Mark

What is it? Builds on the successful Naacemark awarded to schools who have achieved a certain level of ICT competency. The Self-review Framework (see below) developed by Becta will ultimately lead to this new ICT Mark.

How can it help? Demonstrates to a school and its community the achievement it has made in delivering an effective ICT strategy. Will act as a bench mark and support for other schools.

Secondary Leadership Team Toolkit

What is it? A CD-Rom providing a range of practical tools to guide school leadership teams on how to lead the effective use of ICT across the curriculum. Designed to meet the specific needs of each school. Comes complete with a booklet of case studies on extending learning beyond the school day, developing the 14-19 curriculum and personalising learning for all.

How can it help? Helps secondary leadership teams develop and communicate a vision for their school, explore and plan different implementation strategies and review and evaluate progress.


Self-review framework

What is it? A programme which enables schools to identify where they are on the road to successfully using ICT within their school. Developed by Becta in conjunction with key partners including the National Strategies, NCSL (National College for School Leadership) and Ofsted.

How can it help? Shows schools where they are on the road to becoming an 'e-confident' school, and the practical steps they can take to progress further.


Leadership Team Toolkit for Primary Managers

What is it? A toolkit that provides a range of practical tools that support leadership teams in the essential task of leading the use of ICT across the curriculum. This is part of the Primary National Strategy's development work on improving the quality of learning and teaching through the effective use of ICT.

How can it help? School leadership teams can develop and communicate a vision for ICT, plan implementation strategies and evaluate current provision and usage for ICT in their school.


SLICT  (Strategic Leadership of ICT)

What is it? A professional leadership development programme, designed by head teachers for head teachers, that works with head teachers to review their leadership and the possibilities that ICT can bring to extend and enhance learning and teaching in school.

How can it help? Provides an opportunity to work with up to 40 head teachers to consider key strategic issues, evaluate solutions and unlock the potential of ICT.


The ICT Register 

What is it? A register of over 200 schools around the country that can provide one-to-one support and advice on ICT.

How can it help? Get first-hand experience from fellow professionals who have already faced the issues your school may be facing.
