Parent Know How

Have you ever been approached by a parent in need of very specific advice about their family situation? What do you do if you spot a parent in need of support? Signposting them to one of the Parent Know How services might help.

Parent Know How is a suite of eighteen services from the DCSF, delivered by thirteen leading Third and private-sector organisations, designed to deliver better outcomes for children and parents. Experts in the field such as Parentline Plus, Relate, Contact a Family and the Advisory Centre for Education (ACE) all work to deliver support through helplines, social networking sites, instant messaging and SMS text messaging. All the services are designed to help parents with the information, advice and guidance they need to support them in their parenting, with specific emphasis on support for parents of disabled children, dads and parents of teenagers.
