Involving parents, raising achievement: Materials for schools
The Involving parents, raising achievement (IPRA) booklet contains information and ideas to help you develop successful home-school links. Although it was written with secondary schools in mind, most of the the ideas contained in the booklet apply equally well in primary schools and special schools. We recommend you download or order a copy of the booklet from the Online Publications for Schools website (ref: PICE/IPRA) using the link below. Some very brief and specific information from the IPRA booklet is included in this section of the website:
- IPRA: Rationale
- IPRA: Developing home-school links
- IPRA: Taking action to involve parents
- IPRA: Training and professional development

The IPRA training pack and video supports the information contained in the Materials for schools booklet. The training pack includes a suggested programme for an in-service training (INSET) day. Download or order the material from the Online Publications for Schools site (ref: PICE/IPRA/TP).
