Governance discussion paper
The Governance and Management of Extended Schools and Sure Start Children's Centres discussion paper is being circulated for comment.
The paper considers the key issues, principles and practice emerging during the first phase of the roll-out of children's centres and extended schools. It is intended for local authorities and their children's trust partners including health, children's centres, schools, their delivery partners and other interested organisations such as unions and professional associations.
The accompanying covering letter lists a number of questions around which comments may be framed. Comments will then be fed into the final version of the guidance which will also take into account the findings of the independent review of school leadership commissioned from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and due to report in December 2006.
