The Languages Review
On 12 October 2006, Education Secretary Alan Johnson announced a review of the DfES's languages policy. Working closely with Lid King, the DfES National Director of Languages, and key partners and stakeholders, Lord Dearing's remit was to examine what more can be done to encourage 14 to 16-year-olds to study GCSE or other language courses leading to a recognised qualification.
- Lord Dearing's interim Consultation Report and a summary were published on 14 December 2006.
