Bridging plans from Key Stages 3 and 4

Towards the end of Year 9, pupils select subject options for Key Stage 4. Not only are they choosing the subjects they will study but, to some extent, the paths they will follow.

A well-managed process helps pupils to make informed choices and fosters a sense of responsibility for their own learning.

The Bridging plans: from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 booklets are designed to help English, mathematics and science departments plan for effective transition from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 by creating teaching and learning plans that bridge the key stages and help pupils make a confident start to Key Stage 4. You can download the following booklets:
