The final report for the independent Review of Mathematics Teaching in Primary

The report provides ten clear recommendations for improving the quality of mathematics teaching in these areas. The report's key recommendation is for every primary school to have a Mathematics Specialist teacher within the next ten years.

Background
The Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families asked Sir
Peter Williams in July 2007 to undertake a review into the teaching of
mathematics in primary schools and early-years settings. Following an intensive
evidence-gathering period Sir Peter Williams published his Interim Report on 19
March.
