What's new

• The results of the 2008 School Sport Survey have been published. The full report can be downloaded here. (October 2008)
  
• £30 million Sports Colleges Facilities: Year 1 — The first £10 million of approved sports facilities projects at Sports Colleges in 2008/09 was announced on 11th September 2008. See list of approved Sports Colleges here. (September 2008)
  
• An additional £30 million over the next three years is to be allocated to upgrade facilities at targeted Sports Colleges. Further details can be found here. (February 2008)
  
• A new document outlining the direction of the new PE and Sport Strategy for Young People over the next three years can be found here. (January 2008)

• The results of the 2007 Activemark and Sportsmark awards have been published. The full list can be found here and an accompanying factsheet can be downloaded here. (November 2007)

• VISA have launched their Olympics of the Imagination art competition in the UK. More information can be found at www.visavoi.co.uk (September 2008)
  
• QCA's new secondary curriculum website is now live and can be found at www.qca.org.uk/curriculum (September 2008)
  
• A new leaflet has been produced called Helping your child keep safe in sport, which gives advice to parents on what child protection measures their child's sports providers should have in place (August 2007).
  

• The Prime Minister has announced a major boost for sport for young people. Press notice (13 July 2007).

• The London 2012 Summer Roadshow has begun its tour. The roadshow will be offering taster sessions in a range of traditional and new sports. Find out when it will be visiting you area here. (15 June 2007) 

• The David Beckham Academy has launched a website called Schools Zone which offers a unique set of teaching resources on football, health and fitness (April 2007).

• Are you an Independent School interested in joining a School Sport Partnership? Then phone 0870 190 6040 to find out who your local Partnership Development Manager is and begin discussions.

• Ability vs. Ability — the British Paralympic Association and NASUWT have launched a new resource for schools (September 2006).
