Homework
An organised homework programme helps children to gain the appropriate skills and staying power that will assist them through a successful schooling period. Homework also supports the development of independent learning skills, and provides parents with an opportunity to take part in their children's education.
The examples of good practice on the Standards Site are intended to help schools develop, implement, and review their homework programmes — as well as making available successful strategies for enlisting parental support. These case study examples follow on from the publication of homework guidelines in 1998. You can also find out about Study Support Centres.
