National PSHE CPD programme

The provision of high-quality PSHE is central to achieving the aims of the National Curriculum, the five Every Child Matters (ECM) outcomes for children and young people, and for achieving National Healthy Schools Status. This importance is reinforced by the new duty on school governors to promote well-being. PSHE-provision in schools has improved but in light of these developments more needs to be done.

Help is available through the National PSHE CPD programme, a free accredited year-long professional development programme funded by the DCSF. Recruitment for the next phase of the programme starting in September 2007 is currently underway and has a specific focus on increasing uptake in secondary schools.

  • Find out more about the programme and the national support available to schools on PSHE by reading a letter from Andrew Adonis, Minister for Schools, and the leaflet on the National PSHE CPD programme.
  • To reserve a place(s) on the programme contact nationalpshe@vtplc.com.
