AST pay
There is a separate pay spine for ASTs. On appointment, an AST moves to the bottom of a five-point range drawn from this pay spine.
From September 2006 a new AST pay spine will be introduced. It will have 18 points and these will mirror the first 18 points of the leadership pay spine. To see guidance about how the pay of existing ASTs should assimilated onto the new pay spine click here.
