News:School partnerships

Tuesday 14 July 2009

The Department for International Development (DFID) is running a summer campaign to raise awareness of the benefits to children of school partnerships.

The campaign will demonstrate how partnerships can:

  • expand young people's understanding and knowledge of the world, and of their own culture
  • improve their motivation
  • help them develop as global citizens.

If you would like to find out how your school can engage in a partnership in the new school year, or get financial support if you are already in a partnership, you can visit the British Council website.

DFID will be announcing new funding opportunities in September to help schools establish partnerships. More information will be available in the new school year.

DFID's Global Schools Partnership is delivered by a consortium of the British Council, Cambridge Education Foundation, UKOWLA and VSO.
