Let's talk resources

DCSF is would like to hear your views on the proposed arrangements for distributing the Dedicated Schools Grant to Local Authorities from 2011/12. Respond to the consultation online on the e-consultation section of the DCSF website.

The following information is part of a discussion which aims to look at how the DCSF can help improve and build on existing support to help school maintain healthy finances.

Secretary of State Ed Balls set out his ambition in the Department's discussion paper Securing our future: using our resources well.  Schools and LAs are encouraged to take part in local and national discussions on how we can all make better use of our funding and resources.

As part of this discussion the DCSF is interested to hear what schools are doing to manage their finances more effectively. Use the questionnaire to join the discussion.

See the three case studies for examples of how some schools have taken measures to make more effective use of their resources.

The DCSF has also compiled a list of links to websites which provide support for schools — see the 'Resources' section for more information.
