Teachers' pay 2003
Teachers' pay for 2004-06. The Secretary of State has now consulted key stakeholders on changes recommended by the STRB in its November 2003 report. A press notice has been released confirming the changes. Confirmed pay scales for the period can be found here. The amounts shown are the same as those that we consulted on, apart from adjustments to the following: U5 of the main scale for classroom teachers in England and Wales at 1 April 2005; M6 of the main scale for classroom teachers in the London fringe at 1 April 2005; L32 of the leadership group for the London fringe at 1 April 2004 and 1 April 2005. A couple of changes have also been made to the charts showing ranges for headteachers to bring them into line with the actual salary scales, specifically: group 8 for heads in England and Wales at 1 April 2005; and group 2 for heads in outer London at 1 April 2005. These changes have now been given legal force by Pay Order no 1 for 2004. You should also note that changes have been made to the statutory guidance to the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document relating to management allowances, Fast Track teachers and recruitment and retention awards. Word versions of the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document 2003 and its statutory guidance have been amended to reflect these changes. Work is underway on the on-line version now.
