Teachers' Pay 2005
Teachers' pay in England and Wales is determined according to the provisions of the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document which is issued annually and has legal force. The School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document 2005 came into force on 1 September 2005. It was updated by the December 2005 Pay Order (no. 4).
Section 1 gives a summary of changes since 2004.

Information about Teaching and Learning Responsibility Payments (Toolkit)
If your duties include making payments to teachers, or if you work in an LEA and want the full information about Teaching and Learning Responsibility Payments, you will need to read the relevant sections of the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document 2005 and statutory guidance. You will also need to read the two sets of notes on Safeguarding;
- The Safeguarding Guidance, Safeguarding Flowcharts and Safeguarding Q&A,
- The Guidance Notes on General Safeguarding and General Safeguarding Flowcharts,
- The Model Pay Policy,
- The Revised Model Pay Statements (1 January 2006).
The Explanatory notes for the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document 2005 wer updated in December 2005, the Explanatory notes are also available in the Welsh Language (revised in September 2005).
All schools will also be required to review their staffing structures in accordance with provisions of The Education (Review of Staffing Structure) ( England) Regulations 2005 which came into effect on 6 May 2005.
