Planning

Emergencies are hard to predict, but events can be prepared for. You can start by considering what incidents may arise, then how prepared your school is to deal with them, and what training or resources your school may need.

This section – Planning – sets out some of the basic requirements for health and safety in schools, and goes on to look at some of the general issues to consider when thinking about what to do if an emergency occurs, such as evacuation procedures and calling the emergency services.

The next section – Types of Incident – goes on to look at specific topics such as fire and flooding.

The final section – Resources – includes interactive tools and downloadable forms for use by schools.
