International Education Week (IEW)
International Education Week (IEW) is celebrated around the world in November each year. IEW provides an opportunity to show the world how an international dimension has benefited your school. It is a great way to involve parents, nearby schools and local organisations in your school's activities.
Celebrating IEW throughout your school also provides an opportunity to work towards the DCSF International School Award (ISA).
- IEW 2010 takes place between 15 and 19 November
- IEW 2011 takes place between 14 and 18 November.
The DCSF Global Gateway website, which provides a free partner-finding service for schools worldwide, contains further information about IEW, as well as inspiration for celebrating IEW in your school. There are lists of past and future events taking place in schools, as well as themes and formats for building your own programme for any global focus week. It also includes advice on organising and promoting your events.
