London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) education
materials
This set is the first of materials to be produced by LOCOG and partners
since London won the right to host the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic
Games. The materials include news articles, fact sheets, images and supporting
teaching ideas, providing teachers and pupils with up-to-date information about
the Games, and encouraging them to think about the exciting opportunities that
the Games offer within the classroom.
The fact sheets and supporting teaching ideas are specifically targeted at Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 pupils but could be tailored for use with other groups. The materials are available to download from the On Your Marks section of the London 2012 website.
