14 to 19 phase of learning
Focussed learning Visits: continuing to help deliver 14-19 reform
'The enthusiasm and "joined-up thinking" combine to bring clarity to a very difficult area.'
In 2005/06, the then DfES established a programme of structured Learning Visits so that strategic planners and practitioners could visit areas where a great deal had been done, to learn about what has worked on delivering 14-19 education and training in a range of settings.
Following the success of the first five Tranches of Learning Visits, the DCSF is offering a sixth Tranche between mid-January and the end of March 2008.
These will be 'Focussed Learning Visits' on Diploma Delivery, including curriculum modelling, and will be hosted by a number of Consortia that were successful at the Gateway.
Visit the DCSF 14-19 website for further information and to book a Learning Visit.
Diploma Gateway
As part of its proposals to improve secondary, further and higher
education, the Government is introducing 14 specialised Diplomas covering all
sectors of the economy. From 2008, the first five Diplomas will be ready
for teaching. Find out more.
